The Metaverse Gets Down and Dirty: Jupiter in Scorpio
It’s getting intense in here! Intrepid Jupiter plunges into passionate, power-hungry Scorpio, the Metaversal sign of sex, emotional bonds, shared finances and wealth, from October 10, 2017 to November 8, 2018. You already got the eclipse glasses, now how about adding some spy goggles to your collection? Life takes a turn for the mysterious on Tuesday, October 10 as expansive Jupiter makes his annual sign change. As he flows into Scorpio’s deep waters, he is simultaneously ending his tour of harmonious Libra, the sign of love and relationships, which began on September 9, 2016. We were hoping peace would descend on our planet with the red-spotted planet in the sign of interpersonal harmony for the past thirteen months. But after a year of international turmoil, human rights setbacks and political unrest, it’s clear that Jupiter’s job was to pull back the curtain on the many ways we are NOT as balanced as Libra energy would prefer us to be. Jupiter in Libra: What did it bring us? Outspoken Jupiter is the planetary truth-sayer, and its visit to fair-minded Libra shined a klieg light on the places where justice isn’t being served. Can we create a world that represents all? That was a burning theme during this 13-month cycle and the question remains largely unanswered.
While Jupiter was in Libra, protests sparked over everything from racist travel bans to draconian healthcare bills to white supremacists defending relics of human slavery. Pussy hats became 2017’s first fashion statement—no catwalk required. Athletes took a knee during the national anthem, daring to question why “liberty and justice for all” didn’t include “all” Americans. Fashion became inclusive of more body types, with gorgeous size-16 supermodel Ashley Graham (a Scorpio we’ll be seeing plenty of in this next Jupiter phase!) appearing on the covers of Vogue and Sports Illustrated. Women in Saudi Arabia won the right to drive right as Jupiter was about to exit Libra.
Many Libras were in the spotlight with Jupiter in their sign, which is common when this gas giant shines his stadium-sized beams on a zodiac all-star. Some have been notorious and even nefarious: Sean Spicer, Vladmir Putin, and alt-right troll Milo Yiannopoulos to name a few. Pop culture brought us Libra rapper Cardi B and her surprise hit “Bodak Yellow,” which reached number one on the charts during Jupiter’s final days in her sign and knocked Billboard darling, Sagittarius Taylor Swift—who is hosting humbling Saturn in her sign until December 19—down to #2.
Reflecting on the past thirteen months, you could argue that our world has never been more divided. But it kind of makes sense. Libra is represented by the sign of the scales, thus equilibrium was achieved through the balance of opposing forces. In the face of these polarizing energies, people have united in epic ways, rallying for marches in major cities and through the comic relief of Twitter clapbacks. (That cup of #covfefe is best served cold.) And while some have chosen to remain divided and intolerant, huge swaths of the population have aligned across differences—joined by shared outrage over civil and human rights abuses, and assaults to the democracy that Libra holds dear. A recent New York magazine article even declared activism “the new rock ‘n roll.”
Jupiter’s move into Scorpio: What’s next?
From October 10, 2017 to November 8, 2018, Jupiter descends into the swirling, secretive and sensual waters of Scorpio. This could ignite a different kind of revolution—and it might be a sexual one. Fetishwear could find its way into fashion again (time to put Madonna’s Sex book back on the coffee table) and certain taboos about kink could all but disappear.
Reproductive rights, which have been a hot-button issue for the past year for both the right and left, will continue to swell in importance. Planned Parenthood and Roe v. Wade will be huge stumping issues for the 2018 mid-term elections. So too will tax breaks and the distribution of wealth, both realms over which Scorpio reigns. Jupiter was last in Scorpio from October 26, 2005 until November 23, 2007, so page back to that time for clues of what could resurface now.
Rethinking power and control
While Jupiter was in Libra, we wanted things fair and democratic. And when they weren’t it stood out in stark relief, spurring outrage and providing nonstop fodder for nightly news programming. Scorpio’s fixation, however, is on power: sexual, financial and a general presence of, “I own the room.” Picture Scorpio momager Kris Jenner strategically directing her career-driven brood. Or Leonardo DiCaprio—who, at time of publication, is juggling several concurrent feature film roles including a Leonardo DaVinci biopic—hypnotizing the room with his devilishly charming gaze. While Jupiter is in Scorpio we all want to be special…in a way that gives us the upper hand. And those who have the allure to make us submit could leave us eating out of the palm of their hands.
Of course, there’s an apt saying here that absolute power “corrupts absolutely.” The oligarchs could either strengthen their insane stronghold while Jupiter is in Scorpio OR have their corruption totally exposed. At his best, Jupiter is a high-minded influence so there may be a new form of currency in the power game: Truth and authenticity. But beware the Svengali effect. Charming Jupiter in Scorpio might even spawn a few cult leaders masquerading as warriors of righteousness. Pro tip: Be your own guru.
Financial reform
What happens when Jupiter, the galactic gambler, sets up shop in Scorpio, the sign that likes to secretly squirrel away cash for retirement…or the apocalypse? It’s an odd mashup for sure and one that could bring highs and lows to financial affairs. This may be an abundant time for the stock market, as Jupiter makes people more willing to take risks with their investments. Caution: Jupiter can also breed overconfidence, so don’t be overly rosy with your Dow Jones dabbling. Keep that portfolio diversified!
Scorpio rules joint ventures, shared assets and “other people’s money”—loans, inheritances, royalties, commissions, debt and property ownership could all become hot issues. Jupiter in Scorpio is also a great time to do retirement and estate planning, to build up your savings or to get a living will in order. You might consolidate your debt, cut up your credit cards or look for ways to get tax breaks through charitable giving. Scorpio rules real estate, so this cycle could be a boon for the property market. With housing prices tipping the scales in major U.S. cities, we may see people flocking to develop midsize cities, living more communally or lobbying for rent-stabilization laws and required affordable housing units in new developments.
Truth-teller Jupiter could also expose corruption among the “one percent.” The wealthy may have to open up their confidential tax files and banks may go through scrutiny. (We may FINALLY see those notorious presidential tax documents…even if they are leaked by some Scorpionic superhacker!) Allegations of fraud and Ponzi schemes could dot the headlines. Watch out for network marketing companies that have a pyramid structure. With cocky Jupiter in Scorpio, we might fall for someone’s big promises of overnight millions and early retirement. That said, this Jupiter transit could bring legitimate ways of earning passive income through affiliate programs, commissions, royalties and other “shared economy” innovations.
Sexual liberation: Getting in tune with your soulful sexiness
Peek-a-boo! Outspoken Jupiter and private Scorpio don’t make the most natural of bedfellows, but their pillow talk can be stimulating and spicy nonetheless.
Since Jupiter rules higher education, you might take some intellectually- AND erotically-stimulating workshops, expanding your boudoir repertoire and learning more about your own sensual nature. Try tantric breathing, learn to “OM” (orgasmic meditation), find your “erotic creature” through an S-Factor pole-dancing lesson or hone the art of “sacred seduction” with Kitty Cavalier. Reading up on sexual development may also give you deeper insight into your own carnal desires, since Scorpio rules the psyche. (So that’s why you keep falling for that type!) Jupiter is wild but also high-vibe, and this cycle could lend an air of mindfulness to our intimate encounters.
Rethinking monogamy?
Deep-diving Scorpio is known for being jealous and possessive, but experimental Jupiter is all about freedom. These energies are a curious mix that could lead to some interesting explorations and philosophical debates. Where is the line between commitment and ownership—and how do we maintain our freedom within a permanent commitment?
“Outspoken Jupiter and private Scorpio don’t make the most natural of bedfellows, but their pillow talk can be stimulating and spicy nonetheless.”
With Jupiter in Scorpio, we’ll explore how we can go deeper in relationships instead of broader. Even if you’re dating multiple people, this cycle signals a return to greater intimacy. If you’re serious about exploring—or even just looking for a new take on monogamy—you might check out a book like The Ethical Slut, which addresses the very real issue of jealousy from a more introspective angle. You could also read up on the concept of “compersion,” which is basically the flip side of jealousy: the positive feelings one gets from seeing a love interest enjoy other friends, creative collaborations and (should you dare to dabble in polyamory) even romantic relationships. Since Scorpio is the sign of power and control, a little consensual 50 Shades-style play might turn up the heat for some couples. No judgment—but privacy, please, says Scorpio!
Breakthroughs in disease research, reproductive rights
Scorpio rules research, and with global Jupiter here, certain infectious and contagious diseases could become pressing world health issues. Since sexuality, blood work and reproductive health fall under Scorpio’s domain, the Zika virus might become a more widespread health concern—or magnanimous Jupiter could illuminate breakthrough cures and vaccines! Interestingly, Jupiter was also in Scorpio from late 1981 until late 1982, just as the AIDS crisis took hold. In January 1982 the first-ever AIDS clinic was established in San Francisco. During this cycle, the Gay Men’s Health Crisis was founded and the CDC used the term “AIDS” for the first time. We may see inspiring advances in stem cell research or new cures for cancer, particularly lymphoma, leukemia, ovarian and prostate cancer.
On an international level, Jupiter in Scorpio could help with women’s sexual health and reproductive rights. Did you know that 1 in 3 girls in developing countries are married before age 18—uneducated and economically disempowered? On top of that, complications during pregnancy are the leading cause of death for 15-19 year-old females globally. This Jupiter cycle might help girls and women gain access to education, healthcare and economic opportunity. Women make up the majority of the world’s poorest citizens. Yet, educating girls—which is forbidden in many parts of the world—is proven to be one of the keys to ending poverty and forwarding world peace. A small microloan from an organization like Kiva can help a woman start or sustain a business in a developing nation.
Addiction and recovery
Scorpio tempts us to live on the edge, and adventure—seeking Jupiter only fans those flames. Be careful with addictive substances and obsessive pursuits, as you could be drawn to danger now. If you’re in recovery or battling with a vice, Jupiter in Scorpio demands an “all or nothing” 12- step approach of avoiding the first sip or interaction. Mental health issues might gain more attention and understanding during this cycle. It was during Jupiter’s 1994 transit of Scorpio that Kurt Cobain committed suicide, having suffered with both heroin addiction and depression. Hopefully high-minded Jupiter will bring more education and awareness to these widespread struggles. New outlooks on death and the afterlife
Jupiter in mystical Scorpio piques our interest in the paranormal, life after death and the esoteric realm. Scorpio is associated with death and reincarnation, and if you’ve lost a loved one, you might find comfort in reading Many Lives, Many Masters by Dr. Brian Weiss (a Scorpio himself). You could book a session with a reputable medium or explore the deeper question of “Who am I beyond my body?” with texts like Kabbalah or A Course in Miracles. After all, while our bodies are finite, atoms and energy never die, so the eternal presence of the “soul” may get deeper scientific support now. Perhaps we’ll move beyond sensationalized “ghost hunter” and horror movie stereotypes and gain a deeper understanding of life after death. Some people may even explore ways to have out-of-body experiences, experimenting with sound healing, holotropic breathing or “micro-dosing” or even going all the way to the esoteric realm with a shaman-led ayahuasca ceremony.
Regardless of what actually manifests during this Jupiter in Scorpio transit (at a global or personal level),
rest assured: It will anything but routine. Time to dive deep!

Thursday July 6th, by Jove !
Thursday, July 6
Everyone laughed when I sent my dog Zola to the Canine Academy Of Design, but they won't be laughing today when she continues to shit all over their lawn. The Day of Jupiter in the kabbalistic World of Water. If you don't have a good laugh today, you are missing the point. There is a whole division of the Angelic Hierarchy assigned to the sephiroth Chesed (Jupiter) whose purpose is divine inspiration through laughter. And there is no vision more critical in the career of the adept than the Metaversal Joke. Did you here the one about the astrologer who broke his arm and attributed it to an accident? .Especially effective activities today include joining with family or friends, attending a metaphysical or cultural event, and using the last effective day of the waxing Moon to move on the intentions or goals we set at the New Moon in Cancer of June 23. We should not underestimate the power of Earthritual/ interlock/ and the focused magnetism of emotion. If we would like less catastrophic weather change, this is specifically the engineering we must learn. Like man, the weather participates or partakes of both Earth and Sky. These planet-wide weather up-heavals are literally and specifically, collective emotions. Only if we can emote collectively and braid our ecosystems with coherent emotion can we save our future. This is no arbitrary test for survival of our genepool. It is the perfect test. If we can learn to braid electrical space with the harmonics which love weaves, then we have passed the "ring pass knot" gate to the privilege of doing that same activity for the braid creation of star systems and galaxies with our similar but much unpacked and blossomed electrical bodies. Love is not just a good idea, it's the Law With our nighttime luminary in quincunx to both Sun and Mars, we must tread lightly to avoid the preachy side of Sagittarius, or slipping into an ego trip. At 8:34 pm (11:34 ET), Moon joins constructive Saturn. This transit in visionary, optimistic Sag can help us organize for success and align our discipline by taking a concrete step. Steer clear of guilt trips and focus on building what you want. Everything seethes and churns in this region, but that's okay: it's all part of November, and soon you won't notice it anyway as you enter into your own state of turbulescent grace. Whatever calls you from outside the curtain can wait. You're here now, and ready at last to open your eyes. When you do, you'll see that Time is a soft jagged wave moving through you and Space is a malleable domain sculpted by perception. Rest assured: the voluptuous terror you feel swiftly gives way to splendour. Suddenly you will re more awake than you've been since retiring from the womb. The secret phenomenological truth, encrypted against
corruption at your birth but now transmitted lucidly across every synapse, is that
the World is determined by imaginative volition. How much love can one being
express? Now that this has been revealed, your purpose is clear. You might as
well get used to it: YOU ARE A GLORIOUS NEW REALITY!

Fireweek begins on a Thursday!
Fireweek/Atziluth of the Gemini Lunar Cycle
The seed/ideas we have from the New Moon to the First Quarter Moon come from the kabbalistic world of Atziluth (Fire) and are the blueprints/seeds for everything that exists, has existed, and will ever exist in the physical world of Assiah (Earth), as an embodiment of the archetypal idealized apple (or a least the Core).. Fireweek is the time to remember we're in the pilots seat of our ownpersonal Lightcraft and make some course corrections if we've veered off course… The Sagittarius Lunar cycle is the time to speak-out. Pythagoras founded a philosophical and religious school in Croton and was the head of the society with an inner circle of followers known as mathematikoi. The mathematikoi lived permanently with the Society, had no personal possessions and werevegetarians. They were taught by Pythagoras himself and obeyed strict Aquarian rules. The beliefs that Pythagoras held were
(1) that at its deepest level, reality is mathematical in nature,
(2) that philosophy can be used for spiritual purification,
(3) that the soul can rise to union with the divine,
(4) that certain symbols have a mystical significance, and
(5) that all brothers and sisters of the order should observe strict loyalty and secrecy. Pythagoras noticed that vibrating strings produce harmonious tones when the ratios of the lengths of the strings are whole numbers, and that these ratios could be extended to other instruments. In fact Pythagoras made remarkable contributions to the mathematical theory of music. He was a master musician, playing the lyre, and he used music as a means to help those who were ill. Well you can turn me to salt, dye me blue, and let the cows lick me into the homunculus of remorse, whence I will go about the countryside ejaculating Pythagoras' name through kitchen windows. And the people will say, 'Look out, it's him again.' And, typically, there will be those among them who will say, 'Let's kick him to death.' And still others will countermand them, saying, 'No - let's just maim him andsend him on his way.' Citizens and townsfolk, can you not see the sign around my neck? LOCK UP YOUR DOUBTERS: SHE IS RISEN, LIKE THE WOBBLY ROD OF MAN AS IT DOWSETH THE FLUIDIFEROUS CHALICE OF THE EMPERESS! Speak out about what's near and dear to your heart. You needn't dress in any but the most perfunctory manner nor bring any crickets (there will be plenty of those!) The angel of dread has wrestled with the Lightpilot and brought her to her knees
THURSDAY, MAY 25
Take physical exercise in Jupiter's Day, when he is reigning, and use Jovial things such as Lapis Lazuli, Brass, Cedarwood, blue and aery colours, wine, honey; and entertain thoughts and feelings which are particularly Jovial, that is, expansive, healthy, and with good humour... - Marsilio Ficino, Renaissance Astrologer and Orphic Musician
In the dark of the Moon, Venus squares Pluto this morning. It’s worth our while to journal about our self-esteem and programs of unworthiness, or visit a therapist or support group where we can discuss them. These activities resonate with the mental gifts of today’s number 7, and prepare us for a fresh start at this afternoon’s New Moon, which perfects at 12:44 pm (3:44 ET), and triggers 4 degrees of Gemini. The Sabian symbol for 4 Gemini says:
A RADICAL MAGAZINE DISPLAYS A SENSATIONAL FRONT PAGE. The compelling power of social propaganda. Exteriorization of emotional sympathy in organized reform.
Gemini is about thought and communication. This symbol expands the reach of our New Moon intentions to something larger than our personal sphere.
What is your special voice and how can you share it at this time of social and political upheaval? Perhaps you have a gift for one-on-one connection or access to a venue you can use to empower, mobilize or enlighten others. Maybe yours is the gift of prayer or of kind words that heal your world.
Whatever your intent around communication, study, thinking and siblings, clarify and write it down on this power day.
